12:30 p.m. — Fr. Shane Hewson

This weekend I had the joy of celebrating a wedding in Monterrey, Mexico, and I am very grateful to my brother priests for covering the Masses in my absence. Nonetheless, I definitely miss you all and I am carrying each one of you in my prayers.
We are now on the Fourth Sunday of Lent, and Jesus continues to work in everyone’s life. In today’s Gospel we hear the powerful story of the man born blind. The disciples ask Jesus why the man was born blind, but Jesus responds with a deeper truth: “Neither he nor his parents sinned; it is so that the works of God might be made visible through him.”
Sometimes in life we may feel spiritually blind. We may not see clearly where God is leading us, or we may struggle to recognize His presence in our daily lives. Yet Jesus reminds us that our struggles can become the very place where God’s grace is revealed.
In the Gospel, Jesus says: “While I am in the world, I am the light of the world.”
And after the man obeys Jesus and washes in the pool, the Gospel tells us: “He went and washed, and came back able to see.”
What a beautiful image for our Lenten journey! Jesus wants to open our eyes as well, to see God’s love more clearly, to recognize the blessings in our lives, and to see the needs of those around us.
Lent is a time for allowing Christ to heal our spiritual blindness. Through prayer, fasting, and charity, the Lord gently opens our eyes and leads us into His light.
May this Sunday be an opportunity for each of us to say, like the man in the Gospel: “I do believe, Lord.”
Let us continue walking together toward Easter with renewed faith, open hearts, and eyes fixed on Christ, the Light of the world.
Know that I miss you and keep all of you in my prayers.
Sincerely,
Fr. Gabriel

Our Mission
At Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, we are called to build the Kingdom of Heaven here on earth by celebrating and participating in a reverent and traditional liturgy that lifts hearts to God. Rooted in the richness of our Catholic faith, we strive to form a community that lives out the Gospel through prayer, education, and service.
Through our devotions, traditions, and daily encounters with Christ, especially in the Holy Eucharist, we seek to reflect God’s love and guide one another toward holiness and eternal life.
At the heart of our parish is our Perpetual Adoration Chapel and Shrine of Saint Toribio Romo, where the faithful encounter Jesus truly present in the Blessed Sacrament, drawing strength, peace, and inspiration to live as His disciples.
